01When does the 2026-27 tax year start and end?

The 2026-27 tax year starts on 6 April 2026 and ends on 5 April 2027. Each tax month runs from the 6th of one month to the 5th of the next.

02When do I have to pay HMRC for PAYE?

Electronic payments must reach HMRC by the 22nd of the month after the tax month ends, or the 19th if you pay by cheque. If the 22nd is a weekend or bank holiday, pay by the last working day before it, unless you use Faster Payments.

03Which PAYE payment dates move in 2026-27?

Tax month 4 is due by Fri 21 Aug 2026 and Tax month 7 is due by Fri 20 Nov 2026. In both months the 22nd falls on a weekend, so electronic payments are due on the Friday before.

04When is the EPS due?

An Employer Payment Summary (EPS) is due by the 19th of the month after the tax month it covers. You only need one if you are claiming recoveries or allowances, or have paid no employees in the tax month.

05When must employees get their P60?

By 31 May. For the 2026-27 tax year, give a P60 to every employee on your payroll on 5 April 2027 by 31 May 2027.

06When are P11D forms and Class 1A National Insurance due?

P11D and P11D(b) forms for 2025-26 are due by 6 July 2026, and Class 1A National Insurance must reach HMRC by 22 July 2026 (19 July by post).

07What changes in April 2027?

From 6 April 2027 most benefits in kind must be payrolled, so tax on them is collected through payroll instead of P11D forms.

08Does Nxsys send the FPS and EPS for me?

Yes. Nxsys Payroll files RTI with HMRC (FPS and EPS) for each pay run you confirm, so you can see what to pay HMRC and when.

Let Nxsys keep your payroll on time

Nxsys Payroll sends your FPS with every pay run and shows what to pay HMRC and when.
